Storm Pipe Repairs

Problem

A 15m long section of a storm pipe bridging a river was badly corroded, potentially allowing the contents to enter the river.

Solution

• Scaffold erected for access
• External of pipe hand prepared to remove old coating and rust
• Rolled steel plates are bonded onto the bottom half of the pipe using Belzona product.
• The entire pipe then wrapped with a Belzona reinforcement material to encapsulate the entire pipe
• Final coating of Belzona for further protection against corrosion
  

Summary

• This work was all completed on schedule and on budget.
• The integrity of the pipe has been reinstated and has greatly increased the useful asset life.
